I am the owner of an award winning marine tourism and charter business operating in a highly seasonal, peak-driven environment. I engaged Harper Digital to manage Google and social advertising, conversion tracking, and performance reporting during the most commercially critical time of my year, after being assured of transparent reporting, accurate tracking, and close senior-level support. My experience was the polar opposite.Onboarding lacked accuracy and ownership. I was promised immediate access to the reporting dashboard, yet nearly a month passed without access. When followed up, a director implied it had already been sent and offered to “send it again,” despite it never having been received.Once access was finally provided, the dashboard showed severely inaccurate conversion data, including thousands of conversions that bore no resemblance to actual bookings or historical performance. This made reporting and optimisation unusable. This was particularly concerning as I had raised tracking risks before signing and was assured this would not be an issue.Campaign launches were delayed. Social campaigns required multiple review cycles due to brand misalignment despite detailed brand guidelines being provided. To avoid further delays, I ultimately had to create and issue an additional digital media toolkit myself to keep them on track.Despite making it clear that November–December is a make-or-break period for my business, the assigned account manager went on leave shortly after signing, with no clear handover or continuity plan communicated to me. During this time, senior management (director again) attempted to suggest delays were waiting on me, despite a clear email trail showing otherwise.After repeated requests for managing director-level involvement went unanswered, I escalated directly to the managing director directly. I received a phone call from him shortly after. Rather than acknowledging the disruption or addressing the documented concerns, the call was dismissive and defensive in tone. I was told there were “no issues” and that everything had already been dealt with, without any explanation of how. I was also told that an internal “exit strategy” had already been discussed with their sales director — before my concerns had been acknowledged or addressed. I found this handling deeply unprofessional and extremely upsetting.Despite this, I remained willing to meet with senior management to reset expectations and move forward constructively. Instead, I was sent a settlement agreement offering a refund conditional on signing a non-disparagement clause. I declined this. The retainer was ultimately refunded without the gag provision, which I acknowledge.However, this did not undo the disruption, wasted time, additional cost, and stress caused at the most commercially sensitive point of my year, including the need to hire an independent consultant simply to manage unresolved issues.What was promised was transparency, collaboration, and senior support. What was delivered was delay, deflection, minimisation of concerns, and disengagement at leadership level.I strongly recommend that any business considering Harper Digital ensure reporting accuracy, escalation pathways, leadership accountability, and communication expectations are clearly documented — and honoured — before proceeding

I worked with Harper for over two years, so I gained a fairly good understanding of how they operate. Things started off well, and there were times where I was happy with how the campaigns were running. In the first year, it was discovered that we had been undercharged over several months which added up to several thousand dollars. I had a call from the Director and in just a couple of minutes, we came to an arrangement and had it resolved.What I found so disappointing was that recently when the shoe was on the other foot (Harper had overcharged us), there was push-back, delays, blame shifting and I constantly felt minimized.Harper charge a premium fee, so I expect their team to be proactively managing our account. But there were significant mistakes including our social media ads being switched off for over 30 days, as well as our Google budgets dropping by 30% for three months, leading to overcharging of their variable fee. Both of these issues were picked up by me, rather than the company we pay to ensure things are working correctly.I had already been a customer of Harper's for 2 years, and stuck with them through 3 account managers, I gave Harper every opportunity to put things right, and I wanted to resolve it and stay on, but they continued to delay and I lost patience. In the end I was offered a one month credit which was too little too late and irrelevant as I had already decided to leave.I'm still ready to take your call to get this resolved fairly and things will be forgiven.

Honestly, I’d strongly advise against working with this company—especially with Nick and Philip. My experience with them was incredibly disappointing, and I feel like I’ve been completely scammed.They promised significant growth for my business through their digital marketing services, which sounded great initially. But after signing up, I spent $6,000 over two months and didn’t even get a single customer from their campaigns. When I had another company check my website for ads and SEO, they pointed out that it wasn’t even set up properly, meaning all the money I’d spent on their campaigns was essentially wasted.When I confronted Philip, the salesperson, he clearly didn’t care—his job was done as soon as I signed the contract. Nick, the account manager, wasn’t any better. Instead of addressing the issue, he suggested pausing the campaign and then asked for more money to fix my website. But seriously, why even launch a campaign if the website wasn’t ready? It’s like admitting they weren’t doing their job in the first place.To make things worse, when I decided to cancel the marketing service, they demanded I pay six months of ad fees as part of the cancellation. It’s outrageous. Instead of refunding me for their poor service, they’re trying to squeeze even more money out of me.It’s been a nightmare dealing with Harper Digital, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to go through the same. If they won’t resolve this, I’m fully prepared to take legal action.I also received a call from a Google partner who mentioned that I might be wasting money on Google Ads, as they’re not very effective. They asked who was managing my advertising. To ensure transparency and determine whether this was just sales talk, I engaged another company to review the situation. They ran a report on my website and confirmed that Harper Digital did not manage things properly.Attached is a report provided by another digital marketing agency, which highlights that Harper Digital has not delivered on their commitments. This indicates that I have wasted my investment with them, as the expected outcomes were not achieved.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Edit 5/12 – No Option to Reply to Your ResponseI wanted to follow up as there’s no way to directly respond to your reply. Honestly, it comes across as though your main priority is to get more money from us, despite the lack of professionalism in the marketing service provided. If you believed our website wasn’t ready for Google Ads, why did you run the campaign? It feels like you’re more focused on charging clients than ensuring a good return on investment.Your sales rep told me that running a campaign alongside SEO would grow my business, and I trusted your expertise since I don’t know much about Google campaigns or SEO. Isn’t it your job as a marketing agency to guide us correctly? Instead, the campaign seems to have been wasted because the website wasn’t up to standard – something I only learned after speaking with another agency. It honestly feels like we’ve been taken advantage of.On top of that, why was I charged for six months of ads upfront? It’s not like you’ve delivered a physical product to justify that kind of charge. Your sales rep pressured me to sign quickly but didn’t explain anything about a six-month commitment. Please check with him and confirm whether this was clearly outlined during the proposal.I’ve already emailed and spoken to your account manager, Nick, to cancel, as we’re not seeing any return on investment. Instead of addressing my concerns, he’s pushing for more money to rebuild the website, which he now says isn’t suitable for campaigns or SEO. If that’s the case, why was the campaign started in the first place? It just seems like all you care about is charging fees, regardless of whether it’s effective for your clients.I’m sharing this publicly to give an honest review of the situation and make others aware of what’s happened.

Harper have made a huge mistake with our campaign by directing calls & business to our competitor. They did not even know they have made a mistake. Campaign was run for a few months and I am glad it is discontinued. Asked for a refund and they refuse to pay in full because of their T/Cs of course. Full refund would be right thing to do but they disagree. To all, be careful and check your campaign again and again to make sure your business is not given away to your competitor without your knowledge.
